The first question I asked him was "What does Key Club do?" Taylor replied, "We go out to the community to help out and raises money for the service program. It doesn't require academics or your GPA." Key Club help with three different organizations, the March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network and UNISEF. The Key Club meets every Wednesday after school from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (sometimes 5:00 p.m.) with Ms. Law in room D211. I asked Mr. Taylor a next question, "Do you think students will be interested in joining your club?" He said that he does because "a lot of students would be connected to the school, help the community and learn from each other." Taylor said that "we don't assign students to any type of job, but they assign them to an organization."
The next question I asked Mr. Taylor is, "Will this club give the students a good working experience?" He said, "It could, because it could expose them to new skills." The last question I asked him is, "What kind of activities the students do in Key Club?" He answered, "We discuss projects that will be coming up, go to conventions in Durham, meet the Key Club group from all around the country and we do volunteering on weekends." Not only that, Key Club is taken from all over the world. So if you like volunteering and want to help the community? Then Key Club is the right club for you. For more information about the Key Club, see guidance counselor Mr. Taylor and Ms.Stubbs, or visit www.keyclub.org for all about the Key Club and how to join.
