Tutoring nowadays is not made fun of as it used to be. The curriculum is drastically changing and students are trying to catch up. The teachers at Overhills are giving up their time to help their students in class. There are two after school programs for our school. The first one is Saturday school while the second is A.P.Y.N. Saturday school is school on Saturday that you have to sign up for a week prior.
A.P.Y.N is an after school program at our school. A.P.Y.N stands for 'Army Program in Your Neighborhood'. On some days it is open while on others it is closed. To stay after school, you have to sign up in the library. It is best to sign up right when school lets out so you do not have to wait in a long line. You sign in on the computers. If you are military connected (parent(s) or guardian is in the military) you can request for a Linden Oaks bus pass. There is one bus that takes and drops off students in Linden Oaks. In order to register for a pass, you will have had to previously shown your ID card.
A.P.Y.N starts at 2:45 and ends at 4:30. Snacks are provided to every students that signs up. They could be military connected or not. The snacks were originally located in the cafeteria but have moved to the pillar outside of the library. You have to sign a chart (write your name legibly in print) and check in with the woman with the packet of paper. The A.P.Y.N program allows students to stay after school to catch up on work.
