On Friday, April 24, the Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crime Stoppers will be holding it's annual barbecue dinner fundraiser in the Harris Teeter parking lot on Raeford Road. The barbecue dinner occurs every Friday of the Dogwood Festival weekend; this will be it's thirty-first year.
Barbecue plates are available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will cost $7, including coleslaw, potato salad and a dinner roll. Drinks will cost $1 extra. The money collected is used as a cash reward to tipsters whose information could lead to the arrest of suspect sin active cases. Crime Stoppers hope to collect more than $12,000 this year from the annual barbecue. Around 3000 plates will be prepared using 1312 pounds of meat, 1125 pounds of coleslaw and 1125 pounds of potato salad.
