April marks the month of the military child. Our Military Family Life Consultant, Laura Shepard, hosted an essay writing contest that allowed military children to share their experience. Each grade level had their own entry period of one week. After the week ended, a winner would be chosen. The contest was set to run from March 27 to May 1.
Judges looked for great content as per usual as well as a genuine tone. Something else being looked for was if other military kids would relate. Prizes are to be awarded to the winners of each grade level at the end of the month. The type of prize, though, is to be disclosed. For more information pertaining to military family life, check in with Ms. Shepard in the commons area during your lunch period.
