Health care is one of the fastest growing segments of business in the United States today. The need for trained professionals is increasing. Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) offers the Career Technical Education Pathway for nursing assistants. This pathway leads to a certificate or diploma. Students interested in this program need to be a high school junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on high school courses and must meet the prerequisites of the career pathway. This course may be used to provide partial or full fulfillment of a degree in nursing.
To maintain eligibility for continued enrollment, a student must continue to make progress towards a high school diploma and maintain a 2.0 in college coursework after completing two courses. Students planning on taking this course need to work with their high school guidance counselor to enroll and must complete a college application to be admitted. This program is a great opportunity for students choosing a career in nursing. For more information, contact Virginia Brown, the pathway coordinator, at (919) 718-7370.
