On May 15, Fort Bragg hosted their 10th annual Warriors on the Water (WOW) fishing tournament. WOW is inspired by today's military service members and their sacrifices and is a unique way to show appreciation. Over 1700 professional and semi-professional fishermen volunteer every year to take military service members who have just recently got back from deployment out on the lake, teach them how to fish and compete for a trophy. The boaters come from all over the United States to help out with this event.
The top three finishers of the tournament were Steven Chang (U.S Marine), James Hart (U.S Air Force) and John Harrison (U.S Army). The day was a success filled with food, prizes and tons of fun. Hal Abshire, President of WOW, says he hopes next year is "even bigger and better". All of the staff, boaters and service members had a great time and can't wait for next year!
