Many have heard about the thousands of Syrians fleeing their war-torn country, but they might not know the details. Almost 50 percent of the country has already been displaced from their homes. About 310,000 civilians have been killed in only three years. 4 million are displaced abroad mostly in Turkey and Lebanon. Many European countries have also taken in refugees, although not as much as the countries surrounding Syria.
Most of these countries cannot handle the amount of refugees entering their country. A lot of the refugees are living in poverty or massive camps simply due to the fact that many of these countries can't afford to house so many people. Several organizations are already helping the Syrians receive food and water but more help is always needed. If anyone is interested in helping or donating they can visit the Red Cross website for more information.
