Supporters and survivors of heart disease gathered in Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville for the 2015 Sandhills HeartWalk Saturday Oct. 10. This event is hosted in hopes to raise money and spread awareness for heart disease. There was plenty of fun to be had in this music-filled environment. This pet-friendly event brought out not only many people, but their furry friends as well.
The HeartWalk offered both one-mile and three-mile routes, offering accommodation to all fitness levels. Volunteers to help with this type of event are always welcome, and registration can be completed online for many walks and races. The HeartWalk, thanks to sponsorship, offered Subway and other refreshments (as food is always an incentive to be involved). Exercise or volunteer for a good cause and register for next year's HeartWalk at heart.org. If attendance is not possible, keep in mind that donations are always welcome.
