Many of the students at Overhills High School plan on taking drivers education but have no idea where to sign up for it. The answer is simple; first you have to go to the Harnett County website (www.harnett.k12.nc.us) and click on the "parents" tab. Once you do that, on the right side of the page, you will see "drivers ed" labeled in blue. When you click on that, it will show you the available classes and when you scroll down, you will see the tab labeled "OHS". Next you will download, print and fill out the form shown. You will turn that form into Coach Bryon Comly, located near the gymnasiums, or give it to the guidance office.
The cost for drivers ed is 55 dollars for 30 hours of class instruction and six hours of driving the drivers ed car. It is recommended that if you have taken some drivers ed classes, but you still need more class time, that you should come to recent classes so you can get your 30 hours of instruction.
The class size has been lowered to 50 students due to low funds. However, in November, student classes may rise to 150 students. So make sure you sign up fast to make sure you can take it as soon as possible!
