Meredith College is celebrating their 125 year anniversary by holding a poetry contest. Meredith College is one of the largest independent private women's colleges in the U.S. MC was founded in 1891. Each entry in the contest will recognize Meredith College's history. Everyone is allowed to particular. You're only allowed one entry per person. By entering the contest you are giving Meredith College permission to publish your entry. The poems will be judged blindly. They will be evaluated on content, quality of writing, and theme. The first place overall will win $125 and the first place student entry overall also wins $125.
Each poem must be original and it should not go over 40 lines. The entry deadline is Oct. 12. Entries must be submitted via e-mail to [email protected]. Use the "Meredith College Poetry Contest" as a subject line. Submit name, address, e-mail, and phone on the header of the poem and provide a suggested title. If you are a student, indicate that in your header because students will be judged individually and they're able to win both prizes. The winners will be announced at the Carlyte Campbell Friends of the Library Dinner on Oct. 27.
