Recently, Harnett County's network suffered a malware attack, affecting schools and the Board of Education. This virus is called the 'CryptoWall Ransomware'. It's purpose is to obtain and lock files from the computer affected. In order to get access back, a fee needs to be paid. According to PC World, this virus has earned its creators more than $1million. To ensure that school devices don't get infected in the future, remember to not click any pop-ups, don't plug in personal devices to any school device, and don't open emails from unknown senders.
