On May 14, Amy Arnold got plastic surgery on her nose to end bullying once and for all. Students have been bullying her about her nose since she was in second grade. She was so embarrassed that she didn't want to go to school anymore. Arnold explained to the WRAL News Staff of what the students said to her when she was little, they said, "You look like Toucan Sam from the Fruit Loops box." Arnold decided to stop the bullying and get a nose surgery, also known as "rhinoplasty."
When Arnold and her parents went to see Dr. Stein, she was ready for her surgery. Dr. Stein understood her story of bullying. "It's a life-changing experience", Stein said to the WRAL News Staff. After the surgery, Arnold was so happy that she took selfies of her new nose and called Dr. stein her hero. When people read Arnold's story, hopefully they will understand that they have the power to stop bullying and change their image.
