The National Beta Club is a non-profit educational youth organization. It was developed to cultivate leadership and reward hard-working students, giving them the opportunity to grow and earn scholarships.
The Beta Club at Overhills High School is invitation only. Students who have attended the school for at least a year and have a 3.5 GPA or higher are invited to be inducted into the club. Due to the high expectations of the club, members are expected to participate in community service activities and are held accountable for keeping their grades up. Failure to do this would result in dismissal from the club.
Over the last few years, there have been a couple changes to the club advisor, but now the faculty adviser to the Beta Club is Mrs. Joyce Pevler. She is dedicated to helping the members make the club all that it can be. Recently, the Beta Club has elected new officers. They are Lauren Connelly as President, Luis Hernandez as Vice President, Brittany Mancuso as Secretary, and Mercedes McLean as Treasurer.
