Alisha Waters, a former English teacher, has now become a guidance counselor at OHS. Waters said she became a counselor because she can do more. "It allows me to spend individual time with students". Waters said that not being able to see every one of her students is the hardest thing about being a counselor. " I have thought about being an English teacher again," Waters said. "I've taught English for seven years. I love the classroom setting, and it's a significant subject".
Waters also said her priority is to help all students reach their goals. It took Waters two and a half years of her master program to become certified as a counselor. The thing Waters doesn't like about being a counselor is schedule change. Waters would rather be a counselor then a English teacher, and does a good job doing it.
