The Tree House Humane Society is bringing something never before seen in Chicago, IL. Coming soon to the West Rodgers Park neighborhood is Chicago's very first cat cafe. Customers can sip coffee from the bar and play with cats in the adjacent lounge all under one roof. The cafe is meant to attract potential adopters for their cats and the revenue from the cafe will go towards their programs.
The Tree House Humane Society is a no-kill shelter. They expect to see 1,000 cats adopted after the cat cafe opens. The Chicago city council approved the ordinance. The ordinance states that the cafe must serve non alcoholic beverages and maintain sanitation. The construction is planned to begin in June. Cat lovers everywhere are paws-itively excited for the opening of the cafe.
